There are at least 3 different types of palindromic poems that i\'ve seen in alphabetic languages.
- palindromic poem (the entire poem is palindromic)
- word-unit palindrome (palindromic by individual words)
- palindromic verses (each line a palindrome)

\"Lives Evil\" (reprinted from the website)
Evil am I.
Evil,
as so to die not sane.
Menace I lay.
A stab mocks.
I revolt.
No din is still.
I kidnap and I kill.
Its sin I dont love.
Risk combat.
Say a lie.
Cane men.
A stone I do toss!
Alive,
Im alive.

Thanks for your input, and I wish others would make a comparison between Chinese palindromic poems and those in English and other languages.
Haven\'t studied the examples you put here, but let me guess: a Chinese palindromic can be a matter of effort, a palindromic poem in English or other similar languages would mostly be a matter of chance.
Will travel for a while, and wish you all a pleasant talk here!
Best regards

I understand they must be there busy with their project and have interest in each post here just like me.
As I said, Micheal Bullock is my favourite poet. Here is another poem I want to share with you, and this poem I think is appropriate for this special forum:
Trees, River and Birds
The trees by the riverband
quiver as the water washes their roots
Their thrill of delight
reaches the birds on their branches
who begin to sing
with feathery vioces
songs that rustle past the leaves
on their way to the stars
--------Micheal Bullock

Hi Bill,
Thanks to your brilliancy, it is really a pleasure to visit Forum now. Reading what is written by Claudia, I burst into laughter till the tears come.
My congratulations:
……
Cheers ! ▲ Collapse | |

Hi Chance,
I wish everybody, I mean everybody, could breathe the fresh and purifying air of poetic beauty and feel the unique essence of Humanity.
In fact I don't believe in brilliancy, I believe in simplicity that is more shiningly powerful, like this poem:
Let's celebrate this beautiful simplicity and go for it.

| | | chance (X) iš prancūzų į kinų + ... You can find it in the link that Zhoudan posted here above. | Sep 12, 2003 |

Here is my favorite:
And yours?

In Qin times the bright moon in Han times the pass, 10,000 li long march people never return.
But make Longcheng's Flying General be there, don't let the Hu Horse across Yinshan .
Du Fu - Pavilion Night
Year end moon and sun press on the short day,
heaven's edge frost and snow clear the cold night.
Fifth watch drum and horn sounds solemn stirring,
Three Gorges star river reflections rock and waver.
The open-country cries the thousand families hear of war and offensives,
Yi songs in several places set off fishermen and woodcutters.
Sleeping Dragon, Leaping Horse in the end yellow earth,
human affairs, music, books, all over the place deserted lonely.
. In a ci to the tune of "Every Sound Lentemente", Li Qing Zhao wrote:
Search search seek seek, cold cold clear clear, bleak bleak sad sad alone alone. Sudden warmth turns to cold it's the time, when it's hardest to recuperate. Three cups two small cups of light wine, how can they match the evening wind with his noise! The wild geese pass by yes, and it really pains me, in the old days we knew each other.
All over the ground chrysanthemums heap up, withered and damaged, now who would pick them? Watching at the window, by myself how does it get so dark! The wutong tree is devoting itself to the drizzle, when dusk comes it's plop plop plip plip. All of these things, how could the one word 'ennui' suffice!
Zhu Shu Zhen "Butterfly loves the Flowers" - the subject is the poet's vexed mood in the spring.
Outside the building weeping willows hundreds of thousands of strands, I long to tether youth, short-staying spring moves on. As if I'm willow down floating at the front of the wind, I follow spring and then ask where's it gone?
Filled with green are the hills and streams a cuckoo can be heard, I suppose they do it unfeelingly, surely they also mean to upset me. Holding up my wine to send off spring spring doesn't speak, at dusk though there's a pattering rain. ▲ Collapse | | | Puslapiai temoje: < [1 2 3] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » What is your favorite Chinese poem?
